Boko Haram: Enough is Enough - Gbemi Saraki

Date: 2014-05-05

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Senator Ruqayat Gbemisola Saraki said enough is enough on the incessant bombing of innocent citizens by insurgents just as she urged the federal government to be more pro-active in the fight against terrorism. She warned that it will be very dangerous if government is put on the defensive by the incidents of incessant bombings adding that the public may resort to unpleasant means of providing security of lives and property.

The Senator in a statement signed by her Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Sola Shittu encouraged the federal government not to lose focus on the concerted efforts to curb terrorism and insurgency in the country.

"This fight is beyond government, it is a fight for all of us, it is a fight against you and me. Now the time has come to go beyond protest and join government in this battle and I can see us winning this war.

"Please let all of us join hands with this government to fight this battle because this is becoming too much for us to bear. We are still struggling with the reality of our missing girls and the first Nyanya blast and now again they are here" she said.

She urged government and the people not to despair but rather remain united in the fight against the few Nigerians who wants to turn the country into a war zone.
