Kwara FOMWAN prays for Abdulfatah’s success
MUSLIM women groups in Kwara State, under the banner of the Federation of Muslim Women Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN), have charged the state government to initiate policies and
programmes that will move the state forward and better the lives of the masses.
The Muslim women groups included the NASFAT, Quareeb, Ansar Ud-Deen, Ansar Ul Islam, Hismad and Jaozian organisations, all under the umbrella of FOMWAN, last weekend, visited the Government House, Ilorin, on the invitation of the wife of the governor, Mrs Omolewa Ahmed, to offer prayers for a successful tenure of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed.
Leader (Amirah) of FOMWAN in the state, Hajia Rihannat Yahaya Madawaki, speaking with Tribune Islamic News charged the new administration to give women their dues and not relegate them to the background, saying Allah created us all for useful purposes.
Madawaki stated that women in leadership positions were always dedicated and trustworthy.
Also speaking, one of the founders of FOMWAN in the country, who is also an educationist and Islamic scholar, Hajia Muslimat Kamaldeen Al-Adaby, charged the new governor to make use of round pegs in round holes in his appointment of aides.
Al-Adaby stated that the governor should shun corrupt tendencies in his dealings in order to achieve success in his set goals and programmes for the people.
Meanwhile, Mrs Omolewa in her speech called for concerted efforts and collaboration of all the women groups towards the success of the administration.
