Commissioner Pledges To Facilitate Payment Of Sign-On Fees Of Kwara FC Players

Date: 2018-05-26

The Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development in Kwara, Muyideen Alalade, has pledged to push for the payment of outstanding sign-on-fees and other allowances of former and current players of Kwara United FC.

He made the pledge in Ilorin on Friday while playing host to the management of Kwara United FC led by its Chairman, Oladimeji Thompson.

According to him, the accrued money represents the value and labour of the players who continue to sustain the pride of the state in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

The commissioner also thanked the management of the state-owned football club for its doggedness in ensuring that the team remained in the NPFL. Alalade, however, urged the management of the team to ensure that the welfare of the players remained a top priority.

He said the team must remain compact with sound technical discipline, which according to him, remains the best way to obtain good results in the league. He said: "I am part of Kwara United FC and I’m happy I met a vibrant and articulate management on ground." The News Agency of Nigeria recalls that Alalade was recently appointed as commissioner for sports and youth development in the state.

Earlier, Thompson had expressed delight at Alalade’s appointment, noting that his tenure would bring the right attitude to sports management in the state. He said the management and board of the club were working assiduously to make Kwara United FC a model in the country.
