ICAN honours AbdulRazaq, NNPC's chief finance officer

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (lCAN) has honoured Isiaka AbdulRazaq, chief finance officer (CFO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) with a merit award.

According to ICAN, AbdulRazaq was singled out for his "exemplary leadership and the promotion of transparency and accountability".

At an event in Lagos, AbdulRazaq was honoured alongside Kemi Adeosun, minister of finance; Babatunde Fowler, chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Babatunde Ajayi, the traditional ruler of Sagamu and Akarigbo of Remoland.

The ICAN merit award is conferred on members and non-members who have distinguished themselves in their careers cutting across both private and public sectors.

Isma'ila Muhammadu Zakari , ICAN president, said the Institute upholds its tradition of honouring members who use the profession of accountancy to promote national development and economic growth.

"One of such of our members is Mr.Abdulrazaq whose professionalism and commitment to excellence has made NNPC, the national oil company to be more transparent in its books," he said.

"NNPC accounts and subsidiaries are now regularly published and can be accessed by members of the public."

He was also honoured for coordinating the effective implementation of the treasury single account (TSA) policy of the federal government in NNPC, reducing the number of the corporation's bank accounts.

An indigene of Kwara state, AbdulRazaq was the group general manager, NNPC Capital, before his current position as group executive director in charge of finance and accounts.

He had previously worked with Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN), Debt Management Office (DMO) and Coopers and Lybrand, Chartered Accountants
