Shop Owners Appeal to Gov on Laying of Water Pipe
Shop owners along emir road Ilorin, the Kwara state capital have appealed to the state Government to as a matter of urgency direct the appropriate ministry to dress the ongoing pipe borne water drainage to allow free movement of vehicles and passersby.
The traders stated that the sand which was removed from the ground has formed heaps, thereby, affecting their business transaction.
Speaking with newsmen in Ilorin, Mr. Richard Bankole who is a paint seller lamented that the heap of sand that formed have been giving them serious challenges even as some of them could not display their wares.
According to him, if the dug areas are not attended to on time, it may lead to untold flood that may end up damaging their shops and destroying their belongings if it rains.
Bankole, though appreciated the government's effort on the project which he said would better the lot of Kwarans when completed, appealed to the government to have mercy on them and do the clearing in the interest of free flow of vehicular movement.
Also in his comments, Mr. Samuel Olusona, a seller of wears who expressed his ordeal to newsmen in Ilorin, said he had not been making sales ever since they dug the pipe borne water drainage by the road side.
Olusona call on government to come to their aid by directing the appropriate quarters to do the necessary adjustment. He said that the shop owners along Emir Road are law abiding citizens.
He therefore pledged unalloyed support of his members towards, the success and advancement of the present administration in the state under the governorship of Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed.
