10,000 Oniwa's castigation, slandering can't stop my political appointment - Wole Oke

Date: 2017-02-01

The diatribes between the Senatorial chairman of Kwara North, Alhaji Isiaka Oniwa and some chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Moro Local Government continued last night.

In a statement he personality signed and made available to National Pilot at the weekend, a party in the "war of words", Wole Oke replied Oniwa describing him as a "serf".

The statement read in parts:

"Having read Oniwa's outburst, I have come to the inevitable conclusion that I will only be dignifying him with any form of response from me. Any intelligent reader of the comment credited to Alhaji Isiaka Oniwa, the so-called chairman of the Kwara North Senatorial District of the All Progressives Congress (APC), can only justifiably conclude that Alhaji Oniwa belongs to the class of serfs of the medieval age.

"As a result of his educational limitation, Oniwa couldn't grasp the import of my article (he was attacking). I was discussing issues ... but the serf was harping on, and attacking personalities.

"That was a demonstration of a debased mentality, which of course, characterises Alhaji Isiaka Oniwa and his politics. I know Oniwa's tricks but let me emphasise that 10, 000 Oniwa’s castigation and slandering cannot stop my appointment into a political office as destined by God.

"All the names of elders of Moro LGA which Oniwa attacked in his interview are by all standards and criteria superior to Alhaji Isiaka Oniwa in all spheres of life, except of course, in the art of mischief-making, grabbing, cheating and slandering.

Oniwa cannot stop their political advancement however much he deployed his demonic, ritualistic and spiritual weapons.

Oniwa should have known, if not for his mischief, perfectly well that my appointment as the Chairman of the governing council of the Kwara State College of Education, Oro had nothing to do with "Ilorin Emirate". It is petty and jejune of Oniwa to ever believe that 'Ilorin Emirate" is a factor and criterion in the appointment of every individual citizen from Moro, Asa, Ilorin East, Ilorin West or Ilorin South. Such thought is balderdash and baloney!

"Any intelligent reader and well-informed and knowledgeable historian will simply ignore Alhaji Oniwa and dismiss his comment accordingly.

"Alhaji Oniwa knows very well in his heart of heart, that as far as politics is concerned, that is politics of idea and ideology as opposed to his own politics of money grabbing and mischief-making, he (Oniwa) does not amount to much".
