The Kwara State command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) will today (Monday) parade 50 suspects in connection to various crimes committed in Ilorin, the state capital.

Among those to be paraded are six drug suspects arrested last week. The suspects were reportedly arrested in their hideouts at Sango and Kulende areas of the metropolis.

The commandant, Pedro Awili disclosed this to Pilot Crime while confirming the arrests of the Suspects.

He added that the arrested drug dealers would later be handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in the state. He said the suspects had been disturbing peace and terrorising residents of the affected areas.

NATIONAL PILOT reporter gathered that the two areas are dark spots for criminal activities by hoodlums.

A resident of the area who craved anonimity narrated how he fell victim of robbery attacks in Sango area.

"I was a victim of robbery attacks in the area severally last year and this year. Sometime in September I was driving home at about 9:30 pm and my car developed mechanical fault. As I got down from the car, three hemp-smoking guys approached me on pretext of giving helping hands.

"Later, one of them brought out a knife and instructed me to cooperate with them. I was dispossessed of my phones, laptops and the sum of N50,000.

He further said his shop was burgled the following month and a big power generating set, photocopying machine and three computer systems were carted away.

He expressed satisfaction over the raid on hideouts in the area, which led to arrests of the hoodlums.
