ABS FC recruits 15 new players

The Bukola Babes have added fresh legs to their squad ahead of their NPFL opening game against the Akwa United on January 15 in Ilorin

Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Football Club signed 15 new players to boost their squad ahead of the Nigeria Professional Football League new season.

At the unveiling ceremony held in Ilorin, the club director Alloy Chukwuemeka tasked the new players to give their all in retaining the NPFL status and push for a top four finish.

The State Commissioner for Sports, Bolakale Ayo praised the team's doggedness in returning to the NPFL, promising huge support in their top-flight campaign.

In the same vein, coach Henry Makinwa expressed confident in the quality of talents and ability to compete in the league, while appealing for the support of all to ensure they excel.

For new players recruited, Kwara Football Academy's Adewale Adeyinka, Niger Tornadoes' trio of Bassey Effiong, Omolayo Ibrahim and Feriyaro Abdullahi, Ifeanyi Ubah's Eugene Martins and First Bank's Wasiu Alalade.

Others are Gateway United's Metu Chingozirim, Kwara United's Kehinde Idowu, Cofine FC's Anthony Ebuka, COD United's Stone Evbuomawan, Kogi United duo of Chindo Abubakar and Ernest Governor, MFM FC's Ikpi Austine and Kwara United duo of Kehinde Idowu and Adeshina Gata.

Makinwa's men will open their NPFL campaign against Akwa United at the Kwara Sports Stadium on Sunday, January 15.
