Recession: Engage in SMEs, Nigerians urged

Date: 2017-01-06

Nigerians have been tasked to embrace Small and Medium scales Enterprises (SMEs) to ameliorate effect of the economic recession in the country.

A Pastor of Christ Apostolic Church, Osere area of Ilorin, Kwara State, Pastor Samuel Sunday Ojo, made the disclosure in a sermon to commemorate New Year celebration.

He said "the recession is a wake up call to Nigerians to start something because an idle hand is the devil's workshop. See the many problems in Nigeria as opportunities.

"See yourself as an entrepreneur with innovations to solve societal problems and in return the society will reward you financially." He noted that there are many challenges which could pose threat but insisted that they should not be deterred.

"There will always be a solution if you are determined as an entrepreneur to really create value and solve problems," he added. The pastor advised Christians to unite and live in harmony with Muslims and people of other religions to move the country forward.

He said, "people should not lose hope in this because whenever there is going to be a transition there will be a lot of challenges.
