ABS FC: Count Us Out of Relegation

Date: 2012-06-17

Abubakar Bukola Saraki FC have said that they are not a candidate of relegation in the Nigeria Premier League this season. The Ilorin side, which is presently on the 16th position with 39 points, noted that it has never crossed their minds that they will be relegated to the National League next season.

Team manager Alloy Chukwuemeka said nobody should count the team among the teams that will move to the lower league at the end of the season.

"When you watch the team play, you will understand that we are a Premier League club side. Nobody should equate us with relegation because we play the best brand of football in the country.

"Our performance against Rangers in Enugu and the 3-1 demolition of Enyimba will attest to the fact that we are a good side that should remain in the Premier League.

"We don't have any doubt in our mind that we will not only escape relegation but will finish well on the league table.

"All that is on the mind of my players is to continue to churn out scintillating performances every week to entertain football fans and not playing to avoid relegation.

"I am confident that at the end of week 38 matches, Abubakar Bukola Saraki Football Club will still remain a Premier League side," Chukwuemeka boasted.
