Why I'm contesting House of Reps seat in Kwara - Shagaya
A House of Representatives aspirant for Ilorin West and Asa local government areas of Kwara State, Alhaji Sheriff Shagaya, has disclosed the reason he wants to represent the people of the council areas in the lower chamber of the National Assembly.
Shagaya said he wants to offer himself for selfless service to the people of the area and ensure the presence of the Federal Government structures in the area and in Kwara State at large. Alhaji Shagaya stated that women and youth empowerment, provision of job opportunities, constituency projects and education upliftment of the people of the area would be his priority if elected into office by the people.
He solicited support of the people to realise his political ambition, promising to make a difference between himself and his successor and offer all inclusive representation. Shagaya also appealed for calm within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) family in the State, against the recent development in the party where some people staged a protest to press home their feelings to the leadership of the party in the state over an alleged imposition and swearing-in of a factional local government party chairman in Ilorin West Local Government Area (LGA) against a court ruling, urging the stakeholders in the party to play the game according to the rules and allow peace to reign, because the party leadership in the state and national levels were working round the clock to ensure victory for the party in the forthcoming elections.
This was also contained in a statement issued and signed on his behalf by the media consultant to Sheriff Shagaya Campaign Organization (SSHACO),Sofihullah Kehinde, which a copy was made available to newsmen in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital during the week.
He assured that he would accost home to victory home during the forthcoming PDP primaries for the seat where he would be able to realise his ambition at the close of the day.
